Network Events

aces is not only supporting the awarded partnership projects with grants but offers also additional opportunities to meet partners and friends, to exchange and to have fun together.

In the course of the aces year (a cycle of one and a half years) two major network events bring together delegations of pupils and teachers from all awarded project schools and the representatives of the Ministries of Education of the partner countries.

At the beginning of the project implementation phase there is the Kick-off Meeting where project partners get to know each other, work together on the topic of the year and where participants have time to further develop and plan the implementation of their projects. Moreover, several workshops offer the possibility for students and teachers to learn more about specific methods and approaches.

The aces year is closed with a final event, the aces Academy. It is designed as a participative platform for learning, for exchange and reflection of experiences as well as the exploratory development of important educational themes on a Central European level. Moreover, it provides a stage for presenting the project resuts and allows joint evaluation of the outcomes and working processes. As delegations of current project schools as well as delegations of aces project schools of the past years are invited, the Academy also serves as THE aces network platform. Last but not least, after an intense year of work it is also the place for celebrating together.

aces Kick-Off Meeting 2011

From all project applications in April 43 new aces projects involving 103 schools have been selected - WOW! They started implementing their projects in September! The joint start, the aces Kick-Off Meeting took place from 25 - 29 September 2011 at Hotel Hollywood in Sarajevo, BiH.

Approximately 206 students and teachers from the different partner schools of awarded projects 2011/2012, trainers, journalists and other stakeholders, thus almost 250 participants of 15 different countries took part.

The Kick-off is the place where project partners (students and teachers) meet for the first time and get to know each other better. Various activities were offered to get in contact with each other and to support dialogue and joint learning. Additionally, a series of workshops on the topic of volunteering (the projects' topic) and project management supported the participants with additional information, methods and inspiring ideas for project implementation. Project partners also worked in specific settings to further refine and plan their projects. ... and, of course, we had lots of fun together!
